ARTIST STATEMENT
Color is where every painting begins.
I find inspiration in the colors that surround me, the places I travel, the cultures I experience, and the music that shapes my mood. These influences come together intuitively as I build each piece with acrylic paint, collage, and mixed media, creating richly textured surfaces that invite viewers to look beyond the first impression.
My process is one of exploration rather than planning. Layers are added, removed, and rediscovered until the painting develops its own rhythm and voice. I enjoy the unexpected moments that emerge through texture, bold color, and expressive mark-making, allowing each work to evolve naturally.
Although my paintings are abstract, they are deeply rooted in human experience. I want them to evoke curiosity, emotion, and personal interpretation. Every viewer brings their own memories and perspective, making each encounter with the work unique.
I consider a painting successful when it makes someone stop—even if only for a moment. In a world that constantly asks us to move faster, I hope my work offers an invitation to pause, take a breath, and simply "smell the roses." If a painting encourages someone to slow down, discover something new, or reconnect with a feeling they didn't expect, then it has fulfilled its purpose.
Ultimately, my goal is to create art that enriches everyday life through color, texture, and the quiet power of reflection.
